With its roots in southern California, Linkin Park is an alternative metal quintet band, that includes an eclectic mix of old-school hip-hop, traditional classic rock and spooling electronic vibes.
Hybrid theory,Meteora and the latest collision course wid Jay Z.All these three albums did very well.To be honest,i was never was an ardent fan of Linkin park cause i thought that all they do is shout.But when i heard ''In the end'',i changed my view.I juz got two words for Chester Bennington (the lead singer) PURE GENIUS!
Most of the music artists kinna lose their ''touch'' but Linkin park juz kept gettin better and better.It all started in the bedroom studio of Mike Shinoda(the rapper in da band) wid his friend Dave (bass) in 1996.Then came Chester and the others.The band was first name Lincoln Park.However the domain "lincolnpark.com" had already been taken, and to buy it from the owners cost more than the band could afford, so they changed the spelling to Linkin Park.The band was created on 17th May 2002.
When Linkin Park snagged almost all of the awards at the 2001 Mtv music awards,it potrayed Chester's modesty when he gave the most amazin speech ever!If u look at Chester,u'll notice that he doesnt look like a rockstar at all (except for the piercing on his lip).The glasses,the formal clothes.My friend has been to Linkin Park concert and he told me that Chester's a really nice guy that juz adores his fans.
Coming out with hits like ''One step closer'',''Papercut'' and ''Crawling'' ,it was pretty obvious that they would be ''the next big thing''.The album was notable for its absence of profanity, in contrast to many other nu metal bands' songs.
Linkin park also won the grammy for the best hard rock performance for the song "Crawling."
