Just give it a rest already!

The whole controversy about screening The Da Vinci Code is starting to get annoying.Being a devout christian,i still do not see why there has to be so much of a problem for letting people watch the movie based on the superb book of all time?
What happened,happened.It does not matter anymore whether or not Jesus had an affair.Even though perhaps Dan Brown did not have all his facts right,it was still one hell of a read!
Today,people do not base their beliefs on religion...religion can't tell them what to do.Its all their own beliefs and opinions.You maybe very religious,but not everybody folllows EVERY single thing the church tells them to do or follow.
How do you know the bible is stating a fact?You can't prove anything happened,no more than you can prove what is stated in the Da Vinci Code actually happened.I myself don't know what exactly happened.I may believe in the bible but then again if i knew,i wouldn't have any faith would i?
If we had to do everything the church told us to,if as they state certain things aren't acceptable,then the church also said that all black people should die?So should we follow that?Aren't we all equal?
If...IF what was written in the book seems like a whole load of crap to the church...bad enough to ban a movie based on it,then what bout the talking serpent in the Garden of Eden?Rivers turning magically into blood?Now those sound very plausible don't they?
Sometimes there is no evidence of a truth or a falsehood of what you wish to prove or disprove. There may not have been evidence that Jesus and Mary Magdelene had a child...but then again is there proof that they did not?
So the fact that something is omitted from the Bible does not rule its posibility out. Just as something included in the Bible does not,make it a fact.
For the record,Mary Magdelene was not a prostitute...'Woman of devotion' was mis translated into latin and it became 'whore' (slang for prostitute today).Here again,we believed she was a prostitute just because the bibble said so?
I'm not at all worried about my religion being challenged by what a novel says.If christianity was proved...if it was proved that Jesus was the only son of Christ....there would be no other religion but Christianity.
I don't mean to offend anybody...I'm a Christian myself and i'm not putting Christianity down...this is just something i believe.I just find it ridiculous to make such a huge deal out of screening the one film the whole world has been waiting to watch.
